A few years ago on Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I was starting to cook ahead for a great dinner. All of a sudden my sink is clogged on one side. I'm thinking big this could happen in a worse time. I pulled out the ear and tried, but nothing would budge. I do not like to use strong cleaners drain in the kitchen. I am in the bathroom, because the clog is usually just a hair to build.
I called a plumber and made the appointment. Needless to say, this really foul my cooking schedule. plumber arrived and took a look under the sink. He continued to get everything out of my government and put a bucket under the pipe.
There is a small U-shaped tube that connects the two tubes. This U-shaped tube was connected with two plastic slip nut. He unscrewed slip nuts and removed the U-shaped tubes. Water and food particles came rushing out into the bucket. He put everything back together and charged me $ 75.00. He was out of my house within 15 minutes, but my sink worked. I learned right then that I could do it myself next time, so I thought.
So a few years later he became the next time. This time the water would drain from both sides of my sink. I tried the plunger, but it did not fix it. I decided to try U-shaped pipe trick that I learned. Unfortunately, it does not work. Once again, I called a plumber. He came out and said that the main drain is clogged. He used a piece of equipment that looked like a snake. He had to push the blocks out 75 meters to unclog drains. This time I was charged $ 125.00, but at least it was in my house for more than 30 minutes. However, this is the clog that I could undo myself, so I had no choice but to call for help.
If one side of your sink is clogged try to clean U-shaped tubes. If both sides are clogged call a plumber.
After a month I do a little preventive maintenance in the kitchen sink. Take 1 / 3 cup white vinegar and 1 / 3 of baking powder and pour down the drain. It will fizz up so you have to do it quickly. Let this sit for 5 minutes then rinse with very hot water. It seems that keeping the plumber away!
